Alpine Shamanism
Der Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über den Alpenschamanismus als spezifische Form des europäischen Neoschamanismus, die sich im Grenzgebiet zwischen Bayern und Salzburg seit Beginn des 21. Jahrhunderts herausgebildet hat. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Verbindung schamanischer Praktiken mit regionalen Mythen, Landschaftsbezügen und kulturellen Traditionen des Alpenraums. So verknüpft der Alpenschamanismus globale spirituelle Strömungen mit lokal verankerten Identitäts- sowie Naturvorstellungen und stellt damit ein Beispiel für die Lokalisierung moderner Spiritualität dar. Der vorliegende Artikel bietet einen Überblick über die zentralen Merkmale und Praktiken des Alpenschamanismus und verortet diesen im Kontext gegenwärtiger neoschamanischer Strömungen.

This article provides an overview of Alpine shamanism (Alpenschamanismus) as a specific form of European neo-shamanism that has developed in the border region between Bavaria and Salzburg since the beginning of the 21st century. It focuses on the connection between shamanic practices and regional myths, landscape references and cultural traditions of the Alpine region. Alpine shamanism thus links global spiritual currents with locally anchored notions of identity and nature, thereby representing an example of the localisation of modern spirituality. The article provides an overview of the central characteristics and practices of Alpine shamanism and situates it in the context of contemporary neo-shamanic movements.
